During the ordinary September Plenary, the La Ràpita City Council has greenlit several key proposals. Among them, agreements to strengthen the protection of the Torreta area against potential landslides, a punctual modification of the POUM to facilitate the construction of the future institute, an update of municipal heritage, and the approval of the General Account for the year 2025 stand out.
The protection of La Torreta will be enhanced with the installation of a new anchoring mesh, complementing the existing one. This action, unanimously approved and defined with the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC), aims to improve the area's safety against landslides. In the coming months, new interventions for the area will continue to be presented.
In urban planning, a modification of the POUM affecting two municipal plots on Carrer Doctor Torné, facing Avinguda Jaume Perepons, has been unanimously approved. This modification will allow for the adaptation of the land's urban planning qualification for educational use, a crucial step for the future institute of La Ràpita. The file will now continue its processing before the Urban Planning Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The definitive declaration of six municipal properties on Carrer Constància and Carrer Vuit de Gener as surplus plots has also been unanimously approved. These six plots total 447 square meters and have a combined valuation of 65,231 euros. This update will help organize and improve the management of municipal assets.
The City Council's General Account for the year 2025 reflects a positive economic and financial situation, with 377,000 euros in positive results from ordinary management, 508,000 euros in adjusted budgetary results, and 5.8 million euros in treasury. This strength will allow for continued investment in projects such as the renovation of the Casal dels Jubilats, the street resurfacing campaign, and the renovation of the Pisos de Pepo.
Mayor Xavier Reverté reviewed the ongoing works and projects. Currently, 18 works are underway, including renovations at the Estadi Municipal de la Devesa, the Pavelló Poliesportiu, the Museu de la Mar de l'Ebre, the municipal swimming pool, the Casal dels Jubilats, the bridge on Carrer Sant Josep, the Market, and the installation of shades in playgrounds. Additionally, 17 works have been recently completed, such as the drainage systems in Aiguassera and the protective wall of Escola Horta Vella.
Other projects in the drafting or tendering phase include drainage systems for Carrer Sant Josep-Sagrat Cor, video surveillance cameras, the second phase of the resurfacing campaign, and the expansion of the dining hall at Escola Carles III. This set of actions aligns with the City Council's commitment to improving municipal streets, facilities, and services.
Finally, the Plenary approved a credit modification with 12 votes in favor and 3 abstentions.
