The Montsec Astronomical Park (PAM) is organizing its 12th Astronomy Festival from October 9-12, an initiative combining science and tourism to bring the sky of Montsec closer to people of all ages.

The festival features a wide range of activities for all ages, including workshops, guided tours, special screenings, and geological walks. The aim is to promote star tourism and make science accessible.
Among the highlights are the special night experience "SOLARIA + El Cel de la Tardor" on October 9 and 10, featuring a planetarium session and observation at the Telescope Park. The 3D experience "Voyager" (October 9, 10, and 11) and a special "El Cel de la Tardor" session (October 9 and 11) are also offered.
For families, the festival includes the daytime experience "Descobrim els estels" (Discover the Stars) on October 10 and "Viatge pel Sistema Solar" (Journey Through the Solar System) on October 11, with planetarium sessions, workshops, and solar observation. Additionally, on October 11, a guided tour of the Montsec Observatory will take place, including the Joan Oró and TRAC telescopes.
Geology and astronomy merge in the walk "La Lluna i Mart a tocar pels carrers d’Àger" (The Moon and Mars within reach through the streets of Àger) on October 12, led by Jordi Panisello and sponsored by Geoparc Origens. On the same day, in the Plaça dels Jubilats in Àger, the activity "Observem la nostra estrella el sol" (Observing our star the sun) will be held with various telescopes.
In parallel, the 'Music, Universe, and Gastronomy Under the Stars' series continues its programming. Singer-songwriter Tomeu Penya will perform on October 24, followed by Lluís Sánchez (November 7), Companyia Elèctrica Dharma (November 21), and the duo Meritxell i Judit Neddermann (December 12).
The Montsec Astronomical Park is an international benchmark for astronomy outreach and dark skies, recognized with awards such as the Starlight Award for Excellence in Astronomy Education and Dissemination (2020) and the Platinum Dark Sky Ambassador (2019). The Montsec mountain range has held the dual certification of Starlight Reserve and Tourist Destination since 2013.
