Paraglider Injured After Fall in Vilanova de Meià

A paraglider was injured this Thursday after suffering a fall in Vilanova de Meià. Emergency services received the alert at 12:39 PM, and firefighters deployed a helicopter with GRAE and a ground team, along with an SEM doctor.

The incident required the mobilization of the Generalitat Firefighters, who deployed a helicopter equipped with the Emergency Action and Reinforcement Groups (GRAE) and a ground unit. A doctor from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) also attended to the injured individual.
This was not the only incident of the day in the area. In Fígols, a 72-year-old climber was rescued after suffering an indisposition. Additionally, in Alcarràs, a scooter rider was injured following a collision with a vehicle. An alert was also received regarding a minor being hit by a vehicle on Mare Jané street in La Seu d'Urgell. Finally, in La Vall de Boí, a 70-year-old hiker was rescued after a fall.
In another incident, eight occupants of a van were injured this Thursday in a multi-vehicle collision in Maials, at kilometer marker 102 of the C-12 road. The alert was received at 6:09 PM, heading towards Lleida, after a rear-end collision involving two trucks and the van. Six of the injured were evacuated to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida, and two others to the hospital in Mora d'Ebre. The truck drivers were unharmed.
