This action, with a base budget of 104,132 euros, focuses on the municipalities of Os de Balaguer, Camarasa, Àger, and les Avellanes i Santa Linya. The project is part of the Montclús-Serra Llarga Forest Fire Prevention Plan and includes interventions on key tracks such as the Camí del Pantà de Canelles (7 kilometers) and the Camí de la Régola a Castell de Cas (6.5 kilometers).
The works tendered by Forestal Catalana have the main objective of reducing the fuel load in a territory considered high risk for forest fires due to summer droughts and the dry Mediterranean climate.
Technical improvements will include opening traffic lanes up to eight meters wide, enabling safe and strategic areas, vegetation crushing, and creating water breaks to optimize emergency access. Furthermore, specific signage is planned to facilitate the mobility of Firefighters and other emergency vehicles.
Currently, two companies are competing for the contract, according to the public procurement platform. This project prioritizes connectivity in public lands protected by the Natura 2000 Network.
