Over 1,000 Cyclists at Balaguer's Montsec-Montsec Event

The sixteenth edition of the cycling tour attracted participants from various nationalities to the capital of La Noguera.

More than a thousand cyclists participated in the sixteenth edition of the Montsec-Montsec cycling tour in Balaguer, featuring routes up to 190 km.

The city of Balaguer, in the Noguera region, hosted the sixteenth edition of the Montsec-Montsec cycling tour, organized by the Club Ciclista Balaguer. The event brought together over 1,000 participants.
The start took place at 8:00 AM, with cyclists embarking on various routes. The majority of participants hailed from the provinces of Lleida and Barcelona, accounting for nearly 80% of registrations. The tour also welcomed riders from Huesca, Valencia, Andorra, France, Switzerland, and Belgium.
The MM140 medium-distance category, covering 140 km with 2,050 meters of elevation gain, was the most popular with 457 participants. The Gran Fons category saw 388 riders tackle a challenging 190 km route with 3,300 meters of elevation gain. The Challenge category had close to 200 registered participants.
Regarding gender distribution, men were the clear majority, with 928 participants (88%) compared to 115 women. The organizers highlighted the smooth running of the event and the valuable collaboration of volunteers, businesses, and local councils in the region.
