The Mancomunitat La Plana has announced the continuation of the Emotional Support and Mutual Aid Groups (GSAM) for non-professional caregivers, with sessions in Balenyà, Taradell, and Tona.

The Mancomunitat La Plana has announced the resumption of the Emotional Support and Mutual Aid Groups (GSAM), a free resource for non-professional caregivers of individuals with dependency needs. These spaces aim to provide a meeting point for sharing experiences, expressing emotions, and receiving mutual support, addressing the loneliness often associated with caregiving tasks.
The primary objective of the GSAM is to improve the emotional well-being of caregivers, alleviate feelings of loneliness, and provide practical tools for daily life. The sessions, led by professionals from the Fundació Atenció a Persones Dependents, encourage exchange among participants with similar realities and the creation of community bonds.
The president of the Mancomunitat, Pere Medina Serrahima, has highlighted the importance of caring for those who care to build a more cohesive society.
The new edition of the groups will take place in Balenyà (starting October 23rd, bi-weekly Fridays at La Pista), Taradell (starting October 28th, bi-weekly Wednesdays at Espai Solidari), and Tona (starting November 4th, bi-weekly Wednesdays at Caterina Figueras Library). All sessions will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Participation is free and requires prior registration by calling 938 125 445, the number for the Mancomunitat's Area of Attention to Persons.
This initiative is part of the Mancomunitat Action Plan (PAM) 2023-2027, specifically within the "Caring for People" axis, and is supported by the Diputació de Barcelona. The goal is to promote community action and social cohesion among the member municipalities.
The Mancomunitat La Plana, comprising 14 towns in Osona and El Moianès, acts as a public entity to ensure the efficiency and quality of municipal services for its associated towns, including Aiguafreda, Balenyà, Collsuspina, El Brull, Folgueroles, Malla, Muntanyola, Sant Martí de Centelles, Sant Miquel de Balenyà, Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer, Seva, Taradell, Tona, and Viladrau.
