The Calldetenes City Council continues to work towards a more sustainable, accessible, and environmentally committed municipality, as part of its commitment to the 'Destinació Barcelona Sostenible' tourism initiative.
This program is a voluntary certification system that promotes good sustainability practices and recognizes the commitment of destinations, companies, and tourist services to continuous improvement. Its methodology allows for setting objectives, defining priorities, and driving actions that contribute to more sustainable development, in line with environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles.
For this year, the Calldetenes City Council plans new improvement actions. Notably, it includes the development of a project to renovate and upgrade the facilities of the municipal swimming pool, aiming to enhance its accessibility and facilitate its use for all audiences.
Furthermore, work has been done on creating a climate refuge, an initiative driven by the Calldetenes Environmental and Social Volunteering program and a summer project for young people. This intergenerational initiative seeks to foster collaboration between the elderly and youth, promote knowledge transfer across generations, and contribute to creating spaces better adapted to the effects of climate change.
Through these actions, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, accessibility, and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
