Since its inauguration, the Can Forcada Park in Vic has generated significant discontent among citizens. According to received complaints, the park, which was intended to be inclusive, suffers from serious deficiencies. The slide, for instance, does not glide and requires climbing skills akin to Spiderman to access. The inclusion of a blackboard without chalk and an excavator that needs an instruction manual have also been met with ridicule.
Construction, which began in May, appears to have been rushed, with an 'in extremis' inauguration that left aspects like vegetation and ground cover unfinished. Residents consider it not a children's park, but a youth park, with groups of young people causing fear due to their aggressive and noisy behavior, showing no respect for children.
The swing has already been damaged, demonstrating the poor durability of the facilities. This situation has twice necessitated the intervention of the Guàrdia Urbana and the Mossos d'Esquadra due to disturbances. The sense of fear makes residents hesitant to visit with their grandchildren, questioning both the park's suitability for children and its inclusive nature. The Vic City Council has not received praise for its management of this space.
