The works, covering a 5.6-kilometer stretch, involve widening the road to create a third lane. This new lane will run in the direction of Manlleu for two sections and towards Torelló for one. Additionally, a central concrete barrier will be installed to minimize head-on collisions.
In sections where a third lane is not added, such as the connection to the C-17, the Manlleu junction, and the final stretch in Torelló, the carriageway will be reconfigured to incorporate a central separation barrier. The project also includes renewing horizontal and vertical signage, safety barriers, and extending existing drainage structures and underpasses.
This initiative is part of the Generalitat's 2+1 Program, designed to reduce accidents on Catalan roads. The road currently has one lane per direction and handles approximately 15,000 vehicles daily.
The tender amount for these works is 13.5 million euros. Construction is scheduled to begin in the final part of 2026, with an execution period of sixteen months.
