The Manlleu City Council has concluded the 2026 edition of the Estiu Enriquit (Enriched Summer) with the participation of a thousand children and young people. The program, comprising 39 proposals, was designed to meet the needs of families, regardless of their personal or family situation.
One of this year's novelties was the creation of a website that centralized all the summer activity offerings in the municipality, thereby facilitating registrations for the municipal camps.
Approximately 190 children participated in workshops and camps organized by the Education, Sports, Culture, and Youth services. The offerings included cooking, cinema, music, languages, leisure pre-monitoring training, swimming initiation, and educational and recreational reinforcement for primary, secondary, and baccalaureate students. A digital fabrication workshop was also held at the TECHHUB, where participants could create objects using 3D printing, robots, or nest boxes.
These activities were complemented by other camps, residential trips, and proposals, including English camps, sports activities such as football, basketball, climbing, martial arts, or tennis, and artistic, cultural, and educational initiatives. The project was supported by the Department of Education, through the 'Pla Educatiu d’Entorn' (Educational Environment Plan), the Diputació de Barcelona, and Aliança Educació 360.
Equity was a fundamental pillar, with places reserved for children and young people benefiting from Social Services aid, providing scholarships for 129 participants across ten camps. Free activities and affordable prices were offered, along with a 25% discount for large families, single-parent families, and for the second registered sibling.
Attention to diversity was enhanced with six support staff for children with special educational needs. Monitors received training on coexistence, coeducation, diversity, language use, and how to act in situations such as heatstroke.
The City Council positively assesses the results, highlighting the importance of joint work between administration, entities, and the educational community to meet family needs, foster socialization, and guarantee educational opportunities during holidays.
