The L'Esquirol City Council has begun renovation and soundproofing works on the municipal rehearsal space, a key project for the cultural fabric of Collsacabra driven by the Associació de Músics del Collsacabra (MUSCA).

The works, expected to conclude next December, will transform the space into a high-technical-quality musical haven. The intervention focuses on installing a "box in a box" system to acoustically isolate the floor, walls, and ceiling, preventing sound transmission to the outside. Acoustic correction panels will also be installed to improve sound quality indoors, along with a sealed climate control system to ensure air renewal without acoustic leaks.
This project has benefited from the collaboration of Jaume Corominas, a local musician and architect, who contributed his expertise to adapt the space's artistic and structural needs. The Associació de Músics del Collsacabra, formed due to the need for adequate facilities, will manage the space's future use and promote membership.
Currently, the space is used by approximately 70 musicians from local bands such as Faremhits, Tòxics, Murphis, Maso / Esther / Anna, Grup Duble Buble veterans, El Cotxe Groc, and Triomi Quartet, who participate in local events like the Nit de Versions and Molècules Musicals.
The project has a total budget of 43,125 euros, with 27,580 euros coming from a grant from the “Programa sectorial de reforma i millora d’equipaments culturals locals de la Diputació de Barcelona” (Sectoral program for the reform and improvement of local cultural facilities of the Barcelona Provincial Council). The aim is to ensure cultural spaces are maintained in optimal conditions of use and safety.
