The works, put out to tender last July, are expected to be completed by December. The panels will be installed on the roof of the changing rooms and on canopies within the sports complex.
The installation will be connected to the electricity grid and will operate as shared self-consumption, with simplified compensation for surplus energy. This initiative will allow the generated solar energy to cover part of the electricity consumption.
Through this project, the City Council continues to support the use of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Furthermore, energy can be shared among members of the recently established Rupit i Pruit Energy Cooperative.
