Students from the Mancomunitat La Plana's Programme for Training and Insertion (PFI) in forestry activities have restored the Font Gran path in Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer, clearing fallen trees and building temporary footbridges with reused wood.

The young people have reopened the route, which was blocked by large trees falling during intense rainfall. The work allowed them to practice skills from the Silviculture and Pests module, including tree felling techniques with chainsaws.
Part of the removed timber was used to construct temporary footbridges over the Mèder river, which had swollen due to the rains. This initiative combines restoring access to the natural area with material reuse.

"Projects like this allow young people to learn in real work situations and see that their knowledge has direct utility for the towns. While developing professional skills, they contribute to restoring and maintaining spaces that are part of our environment."

This action is part of the "Caring for People" axis of the Mancomunitat's Action Plan (PAM) 2023-2027, addressing the strategic objective of access to training and knowledge.
The PFI for forestry assistant roles targets young people aged 16 to 21 who have not obtained their compulsory secondary education certificate (ESO). The program offers a chance to continue their education and gain skills for employment. Training combines theoretical content with practical activities in forestry, nature reserve maintenance, and occupational safety.
