From June to October, the Pirineu365 mountain resorts, managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), have organized various clean-up days to collect waste and raise awareness about the importance of keeping mountain environments clean and healthy. The resorts of La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé, and Boí Taüll participated in these initiatives, successfully collecting over a ton of waste with the collaboration of schools, companies, and local groups.
At La Molina, the event involved station employees, members of the Adis and Tallers de Cerdanya foundations, and third and fourth-grade students from the Bac de Cerdanya school in Alp. The installation of recycling points has helped reduce waste in the area, particularly noticeable after events like the La Molina Bike Show.
In Vall de Núria, the initiative allowed for the cleaning of areas such as the Mulleres stream, the chairlift line, the Font Negra i de Finestrelles stream, and the area below the dam, with the cooperation of all station organizations.
At Vallter, over 25 participants from the Madteam Excursionist Club and the Marrana Skyrace organization took part in the II Waste Collection Day, cleaning key areas like Pla de Morens i Xemeneia, El Clot, El Bac, and El Xalet.
Espot and Port Ainé participated in the sixth edition of Mountain Calling, a campaign led by the local entity Loser Surfers, the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, and the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, with participation from members of these entities and local families.
At Boí Taüll, station employees conducted two clean-up days to contribute to the conservation of the high mountain landscape.
These annual campaigns by FGC's tourist facilities reaffirm their commitment to sustainability, promoting responsible practices among visitors and actively contributing to the conservation of natural environments throughout the year.
