Two decades ago, CHV pioneered in Catalonia by obtaining EMAS certification, a recognition of its environmental management and improvement. Since then, sustainability has been a fundamental pillar in its approach to understanding and practicing healthcare.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the hospital is organizing a conference to reflect on its trajectory and, importantly, to address future challenges. Discussions will cover the impact of climate change on the healthcare system, the role of environmental management in transforming health centers, and ways to move towards more sustainable healthcare activities.
The event will feature prominent professionals: Maria José Sarrias, head of the Catalan Office for Climate Change; Maria Passalacqua, director of Club EMAS; and Ariadna Mas, deputy director general of Health Planning at the Department of Health. The manager of CHV-FHSC, Sara Manjón, will close the conference.
The conference will take place on October 5th, 2026, from 12 PM to 2 PM, in the auditorium of the Hospital Universitari de Vic. To celebrate this anniversary, a reception will be held for attendees.
