The Consorci Hospitalari de Vic (CHV) marks its 20th anniversary as the first public hospital in Catalonia with EMAS certification, organizing a conference on October 5th to debate environmental and health challenges.

Two decades ago, the CHV pioneered the EMAS certification, attesting to its commitment to environmental management and improvement. Since then, sustainability has been a fundamental pillar in its approach to understanding and practicing healthcare.
To commemorate this trajectory, a conference has been organized to reflect on the future. It will discuss the challenges that climate change poses to the healthcare system, the role of environmental management in transforming health centers, and how to move towards more sustainable healthcare activities.
The conference will feature prominent experts: Maria José Sarrias, head of the Catalan Office for Climate Change; Maria Passalacqua, director of Club EMAS; and Ariadna Mas, deputy director general of Health Planning at the Department of Health. The closing remarks will be given by Sara Manjón, manager of CHV-FHSC.
The event will take place on November 16, 2026, from 12 PM to 2 PM, in the Auditorium of the Hospital Universitari de Vic. The conference will conclude with a reception, and attendees are kindly asked to confirm their attendance at dirserveis@chv.cat.
