The 560 future sergeants of the 51st promotion of the General Basic Academy of Non-Commissioned Officers (AGBS) in Talarn are currently conducting the Minerva 2026 exercises this week, a key practical phase before receiving their commissions on July 3rd.

These exercises, designed to test the knowledge acquired during academic training, are taking place both at the AGBS facilities and in various areas of the Pallars Jussà region, including Talarn, Aramunt, and Salàs de Pallars.
Coinciding with these drills, the Spanish government's sub-delegate in Lleida, José Crespín, accompanied by the AGBS's director colonel, Antonio Pérez Díaz, visited the academy. These exercises represent the culmination of training for promotion to sergeant, evaluating their tactical, technical, and logistical capabilities.

"We recognize the training work that the AGBS has been carrying out in Pallars Jussà for over 50 years, an institution that has actively contributed to generating economic activity in the region and fostering relationships with the municipalities and their residents."

The objective of the Minerva exercises, organized annually by the AGBS, is to foster command leadership and prepare future sergeants for their tactical and logistical roles. The academy, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, has trained approximately 30,000 sergeants throughout its history.
