Tremp Kicks Off 2026 Festival with Inaugural Address

The town of Tremp has launched its 2026 Festival with the traditional inaugural address, delivered by nurses Teresa Montanuy and Maite Elvira, who advocated for public healthcare and the importance of the Nursing Degree program in the area.

The speakers focused their speech on the town and their profession, underscoring the value of public healthcare and the significance of establishing the Nursing Degree program from the University of Lleida in Tremp. Montanuy and Elvira have been instrumental in promoting Tremp as a university town and consolidating this new educational offering.
With this event, Tremp begins a period of celebration that will extend until Tuesday, September 8th. The program blends popular culture, tradition, family activities, sports, and musical performances, featuring significant participation from local entities and associations.
Musical highlights include performances by 31 FAM, L’Anònima Orquestra, Piratas Rumbversion, and DJ Cala.mitat. On Sunday, the Cobla-Orquestra Montgrins will present a concert and dance, followed by a tribute to Extremoduro by Pedrá on Monday.
The festival will also feature established events such as the communal lunch, the Entrepins festival, the Senior Citizens' Festival, the Wipe Out, the street band, the correfocs (fire runs), and the Collanades, in addition to activities organized by Tremp's clubs and associations.
