The second call for the public Solar Reserve, promoted by the Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, has led local entities in Alt Pirineu and Aran to offer a total of 13 plots. These spaces have the capacity to build 207 public rental homes.
The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, highlighted that the objective of these calls is to identify available plots to initiate the construction of public rental housing "as quickly as possible."
The Pyrenean municipalities that have submitted offers include Naut Aran (Val d’Aran) with 60 homes; Sort (Pallars Sobirà) with 39; Tremp (Pallars Jussà) with 31; Bolvir (Cerdanya) with 30; El Pont de Suert (Alta Ribagorça) with 26; and Oliana (Alt Urgell) with 10.
The call also includes smaller developments in Alt Àneu (2 homes), Baix Pallars (3 homes), Esterri d’Àneu (2 homes), and Esterri de Cardós (4 homes), all in Pallars Sobirà.
Across Catalonia, this second call has incorporated 310 plots with the potential for 11,065 new public homes. Of these, 5,371 already have an assigned developer, and 5,694 will be directly promoted by the Generalitat.
By regions, the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona leads with a potential of 6,482 homes, followed by Girona (1,420), Camp de Tarragona (1,004), Penedès (1,002), Central Catalonia (369), Lleida (309), and Terres de l’Ebre (272).
