Shepherds from Aragon, the Basque Country, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, and Catalonia participated in the event, herding flocks of sheep through a course and into a designated enclosure. The competition, which honors the shepherd's profession, featured a display of agility, skill, and partnership between the participants and their animals.
The prize was awarded to Miquel Adrover from Mallorca with his dog Ron. Adrover, a regular competitor, highlighted his dog's role in their victory. Other participants, such as Marcos Aspizua from the Basque Country, noted the importance of the bond between shepherd and dog in his first time competing. Local shepherdess Laia Jurado also emphasized the necessary harmony with the dog.
Favorable weather, with pleasant temperatures that aided the dogs' work with the sheep, allowed attendees to enjoy a demonstration of teamwork. The mayor of Llavorsí, Pepe Vidal Bringué, highlighted the competition's established status as an event to remember and honor the ancestral profession of shepherding, crucial for mountain conservation and biodiversity.
