The National Park's director, Lluís Florit, confirmed that full access will still require "several weeks". Florit detailed that, during the repair work, visitors are asked to avoid parking vehicles overnight in the village of Espot.
The rock and earth landslide occurred late Saturday afternoon in the Pui de Linya ravine. Throughout Sunday, access to the park was opened via public transport and pedestrian paths, but the route to the Joan Maria Blanc refuge remained blocked.
The Prat de Pierró car park, the largest in the national park with a capacity for 150 vehicles, serves 40% of the park's 600,000 annual visitors. August is traditionally the busiest month.
