The Generalitat Firefighters, with the support of volunteer firefighter units, conducted the rescue operation. The emergency alert was received on Sunday at 10:45 PM, when it was reported that the hikers had become disoriented during their descent from the mountain.
The operation continued into Monday morning to locate and assist the two individuals lost in the Pica d'Estats area, a peak located within the municipality of Alins.
