The 10th edition of Hort Poètic, held last Saturday, September 19th, in Bellvís, has commemorated a decade of a project that merges poetry, nature, and culture. The event began at 11:30 AM with a departure from Plaça Verge de les Sogues, featuring the participation of various poets.
This project has transformed an 800-square-meter plot into a poetic space where 22 trees have been planted over the years, each linked to verses and a time capsule, creating a living legacy.
“"We are committed to growing this space year after year, making the verses a permanent part of this place."
In this special edition, a tribute was paid to the writer and poet Josep Vallverdú, a key figure in Catalan literature. An unpublished text written by him for the occasion was read, incorporating his voice into the history of Hort Poètic.
The event also included the planting of a fig tree by Josep Pané, who left an unpublished poem, following the tradition of rooting poetry through trees.
The trajectory of Hort Poètic and the work of its initiators, Jaume Suau and Nati Moncasí, were highlighted, demonstrating how poetry can take root with will, sensitivity, and commitment.
Hort Poètic has established itself as part of the cultural identity of Bellvís and els Arcs, serving as a meeting space where nature and words coexist.
The Bellvís and els Arcs Town Council thanked the involvement of all participants and collaborators over these ten years, assuring that Hort Poètic continues to grow and sprout poetry.
