The Mollerussa City Council plans to bring a total of 71 homes, originating from developments halted by the 2008 property crisis, to the market this year, aiming to increase the municipal housing supply.

Of these 71 properties, 60 are already sold or in the final stages of construction, while work has begun to recover the remaining 11. These figures were presented by the mayor of Mollerussa, Marc Solsona, and the Councillor for Housing, Anna Carné, as part of a municipal strategy to encourage owners of vacant properties to offer them on the market, either for rent or sale.
Currently, the council is managing 193 homes in various stages of processing, execution, or study for incorporation into Mollerussa's housing stock, which currently comprises 6,994 units. In addition to the 71 planned for this year, procedures are expected to begin to activate another 40 by 2027, along with the incorporation of 60 units acquired by developers and currently under feasibility study. There are also 16 homes acquired with no medium-term execution plan and 6 cases pending definition.
Councillor Anna Carné highlighted the council's commitment to meeting the city's housing demand. She noted that there are around a hundred families on the waiting list for social housing rentals, and that the council manages contracts for 52 such properties. Housing assistance inquiries handled by the department have significantly increased, from 2,594 in 2025 to 1,833 between January and June of this year, a figure linked to rental aid campaigns.
Regarding rental assistance, 470 grants were processed in 2025 (42 for those over 65, 77 for those under 35, and 311 for individuals between 35 and 65). This year, and pending a Generalitat campaign for those under 35, 477 grants have already been processed.
