Eduard Garcia Cano, an engineer with internal experience, took over as General Director of RIOU.Vidresif in Banyoles on January 9, replacing founder Joan Sánchez after 32 years.

The transfer of functions was made official on January 9, when Joan Sánchez, founder and CEO of the glass transformation company RIOU.Vidresif, handed over the position to Eduard Garcia Cano. Garcia Cano, an industrial engineer with a master's degree in Industrial Plant Management and PDD from IESE Business School, has developed his entire career at Vidresif, leading the Quality Department for seven years and, more recently, the Production Directorate.
Sánchez thus concludes a solid 32-year career leading the company, located in Banyoles. This transition occurs after Vidresif was acquired by the French group RIOU.Glass in late 2023. Founding partner and Commercial Director, Carmen Acedo, also steps down from her executive duties, although she will remain as an advisor to the Commercial Department for a period.

"Vidresif has differentiated itself by being a company with a firm vision in the development of value-added technical glass solutions, under a totally industrialized and specialized process. We say goodbye with the peace of mind and certainty of leaving our company in the hands of a highly qualified team."
