The recent storm that hit the Camp de Tarragona region occurred as the grape harvest campaign began in key areas like the Priorat region. As confirmed by the presidents of DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant, Jaume Balaguer and Pilar Just, the impact was considerably less than feared. The hail, falling mixed with a significant amount of water (between 40 and 50 liters), was softened, limiting the damage.
Balaguer expressed satisfaction, commenting that "we consider ourselves fortunate" and even suggesting that "the water might still be beneficial for the harvest." Pilar Just echoed this sentiment, stating that "for what it could have been, we can be content."

However, the situation is not uniform across the region. Unió de Pagesos has warned that in municipalities such as Falset, Marçà, Capçanes, and the area around the Guiamets reservoir, the storm reportedly affected approximately 50% of the remaining vineyards yet to be harvested, a significant percentage that could have a substantial impact.
Despite these isolated incidents, overall expectations for this year's harvest remain optimistic. Both Balaguer and Just agree that the quality and sanitary condition of the grapes are good. Nevertheless, it will be necessary to monitor weather developments in the coming weeks to provide a definitive assessment of the wine campaign.
