The Vinebre City Council, supported by the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council, the Center for Studies of Ribera d’Ebre (CERE), the Provincial Council of Tarragona, and the Generalitat de Catalunya, has released the rules for the 44th Ribera d’Ebre Narrative Award. This literary competition, recognized as the oldest in the Catalan language in the Terres de l’Ebre region, has begun accepting entries.
The deadline for submitting works is Friday, June 5th. Entries not officially received by the city council by this date will not be accepted, except for those sent by postal mail postmarked June 5th or earlier. Online submissions must be made through a general application on the Vinebre City Council's electronic portal, attaching the work and a sealed envelope ('plica') with the author's details to ensure anonymity.
The award maintains its cash prize of 3,000 euros, and the winning work will be published by Cossetània Edicions. The verdict will be announced on the evening of Wednesday, August 26th, 2026, during an official ceremony in Vinebre, as part of the local festival. In the previous edition, the novel 'Som aquí' by Montserrat López Tolosana was the winner.
