The project, managed by the Agència Catalana del Patrimoni Cultural, includes a 1.2 million euro investment aimed at consolidating archaeological remains, adapting visitor areas, and restoring the Stables hall. These actions will allow, among other improvements, making the roof of this space accessible and conditioning the access to the Commander's hall.
In parallel, the Institut Català del Sòl (Incasòl) will have 112,000 euros to rehabilitate the southern bastion. The investment plan is completed with an additional 119,000 euros aimed at optimizing the site's energy efficiency, as reported by the Department of Culture.
These interventions continue the recovery efforts of the monument, which stands on an eighty-meter hill overlooking the Ebro river. Recently, a first phase was completed, which ensured the stability of the access bastion and recovered historical spaces such as the barrel vault of the Stables.
The visitor experience at the castle has been reinforced with the use of new technologies. Through the 'Els ulls de la Història' project, visitors can use virtual reality glasses to learn about the monument's past, as well as interact with new resources installed in the Refectory and the 'La Comanda' audiovisual space.
