Rail traffic on this section was suspended at the end of January due to storm Harry, which severely affected the Rodalies network. Despite the reopening, normality is still far off, as the route has eleven temporary speed restrictions and the closure between Móra la Nova and Riba-roja d’Ebre remains in place.
The resumption of service has seen minimal passenger traffic. Currently, there are four daily journeys in each direction that stop at all stations. Additionally, six complementary buses have been provided, connecting Móra la Nova and Reus, stopping only at Les Borges del Camp, and two more that stop at all stations.
The stations show signs of poor maintenance. In Móra la Nova, the first train bound for Barcelona departed late, and the second also accumulated more than fifteen minutes of delay upon arrival at Falset-Marçà. The station appears abandoned, with the ticket vending machine inoperative and outdated schedules. Nevertheless, a screen correctly displays arrivals and potential delays.
The situation is similar at Les Borges Blanques station, where dirt and tall vegetation cover the tracks. At this station, there are no posted schedules or information screens, the benches are broken, and the ticket machine is completely destroyed. Even so, one of the tracks is being renovated, suggesting a possible future improvement. The train that passed through Falset with a delay added five more minutes during its passage through Les Borges del Camp.
The reopening of the R15 slightly eases the connection to Barcelona for residents of Ribera d’Ebre, Priorat, and part of Baix Camp. However, ongoing works in the Garraf tunnels force users to transfer by bus at Sant Vicenç de Calders to El Prat de Llobregat, and then take another train to the Catalan capital, a situation affecting other regional lines in southern Catalonia.
