The measure, announced this Tuesday, follows the breach of the parametric value established by Royal Decree 3/2023. Local authorities advise residents to avoid using tap water for drinking or food preparation until levels return to normal.
Despite the restriction, the council clarified that the water can still be used for personal hygiene and other household tasks. Residents with properly maintained domestic osmosis systems may continue to consume tap water without risk.
To ensure supply, two drinking water distribution points have been set up: one on Pere Quart Street (Els Comellarets) and another at the Avinguda de la Llum parking lot. These points will be open from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 21:00.
Elderly or mobility-impaired individuals can request home delivery by contacting the Municipal Guard or the Flix City Council offices. Chlorates, which are disinfection by-products, can accumulate in hypochlorite solutions stored for long periods or at high temperatures.
