The project will cover the heating needs of Sala Diagonal using thermal energy from sustainable forest management. This initiative was carried out as part of the campaign for Subsidies for installing biomass and/or bioenergy heat production systems and municipal heat networks (2024-2025).
The Girona Provincial Council provided financial support of €41,335.64 for the project, with the total investment for the action amounting to €77,627.38.
Connecting Sala Diagonal to the biomass network represents a firm step towards the municipality's energy transition and a reduction in its carbon footprint. Key performance data for the new facility include an expected renewable energy generation of 41,017 kWh/year, a reduction of 15 tons of $CO_2$ equivalent emissions annually, and an annual consumption of 11.1 tons of wood chips from sustainable forest management.
Through this action, the City Council enhances the value of local forest resources and improves the efficiency of public facilities, promoting a cleaner and more sustainable energy model for Campdevànol.
