The Les Llosses City Council has approved a credit modification worth €612,000, primarily for housing projects and the improvement of municipal infrastructure. The main objective is to combat the municipality's depopulation and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
A significant portion of the funds, €235,000, will be dedicated to the rehabilitation of the former schools in the Palmerola neighborhood. The works, which include completing the flooring and other enhancements, are expected to be finished around 2027. Mayor Jaume Cuní noted that previous work had covered the roof and part of the floor, but further actions are needed to bring the building up to standard.
Another notable project will be the rehabilitation of the Rovira farmhouse, located in Vallespirans, which will receive €152,000. These investments are part of the effort to retain population in the area and prevent depopulation.
“"The priority is that any person in the village who has difficulties and cannot continue living in their current home for any reason, can stay here."
The credit modification also includes funding for the completion of elevators and the cladding of the school building, phase 1 of the farmhouse catalog, improvements to the Riba path, the installation of an electric vehicle charger, lighting for the waste area, and the paving of other paths.
