Civil Protection activated the special flood plan (Inuncat) this morning in alert phase due to the forecast of intense rainfall in the afternoon in northeastern Catalonia, mainly affecting Ripollès and Garrotxa.

The decision was made following meteorological forecasts predicting significant precipitation in the afternoon. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for possible floods and storms in Northern Catalonia.
According to the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, the heaviest rainfall will be concentrated in Ripollès and Garrotxa between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Over 20 liters per square meter in half an hour are expected, with the possibility of storms and, locally, hail.
In light of this situation, Civil Protection has urged the public to exercise extreme caution. It is recommended to check weather forecasts and avoid risky situations, especially in areas near rivers, streams, and ravines.
