The incident, which began at half past five in the afternoon, affected the electrical supply and forced three trains to stop. One of the trains, carrying seven passengers, was immobilized between Ribes de Freser and the capital of Ripollès. The passengers were evacuated by the Firefighters shortly after seven in the evening.
The other two affected trains were stopped in Ripoll and La Molina. The railway company organized alternative bus services to transport passengers to their destinations.
Adif personnel worked for hours in the area of the breakdown to resolve the power issue and restore normal service on the R3 line.
