As part of the commemorative events for the millennium of Cervera's founding charter, the city is hosting a special meeting this weekend with residents from other European municipalities also named Cervera.
Representatives have attended from Vila Nova de Cerveira (Portugal), Cervera de la Marenda (Northern Catalonia), Cervere (Italy), Son Servera (the Balearic Islands), Cervera de Pisuerga (Palencia), Cervera del Maestrat (Valencian Community), Cervera de Cabranes (Asturias), Cervera del Llano (Cuenca), and Vegacervera (León).
The main objective of this meeting is to establish new connections, share histories and traditions, and discover the elements that unite these towns beyond their name. Furthermore, the foundations will be laid for the future Via Cerverina, a route that will connect about twenty towns with this name.
