This initiative will bring together representatives from various towns sharing the name Cervera or similar, hailing from Portugal, France, Italy, Mallorca, Palencia, La Rioja, Castellón, Asturias, Cuenca, and León. The aim is to establish connections, exchange experiences, and showcase the unique history, traditions, and culture of each town, while discovering the common threads that bind them.
The gathering also aims to launch the Via Cerverina, a project designed to foster lasting ties and move towards a long-term twinning initiative, with the hope that other towns named Cervera will host future editions.
On Saturday, September 19th, the citizens of Cervera can enjoy participatory activities. At 11:30 AM, the Passejada amb Seny (Walk with Sense) will take place, a showcase of local folklore by various entities, starting at Plaça de la Universitat and concluding at Plaça Major with a popular vermouth.
At 6:30 PM, the Gran Teatre de la Passió will host La Gala de les Cerveres (The Cerveres Gala). The event, presented by journalist Pepa Fernández and broadcast live on Lleida Tv and RTVE +, will transform the theatre into a television set where invited mayors will be interviewed by journalists from Cervera. The gala will also feature performances by local artistic groups.
