During the 2025-2026 school year, Alcarràs has hosted various artistic education projects in its educational centers, promoted by the City Council. The aim has been to bring culture and the arts closer to children and young people within school hours, contributing to their integral education, equal opportunities, and participation in the municipality's cultural life.
In the performing arts sector, the 'Butaca escolar' program has featured two proposals from professional companies: Campi Qui Pugui with 'Matres' (for 5th and 6th grade Primary) and La Baldufa with 'Fantasmes de guerra' (for 3rd and 4th grade ESO). These plays, selected for their artistic and pedagogical value, have addressed themes such as grief, emotions, empathy, historical memory, and the culture of peace, reaching a total of 496 students.
In parallel, participatory music workshops have been held in the municipality's three educational centers: Escola Parc del Saladar, Escola Comtes de Torregrossa, and Institut Nou. Through percussion, batucada, and ukulele activities, professionals from L’Intèrpret – Escola de Música i Conservatori de Lleida have guided students in instrumental practice and the development of musical, creative, and teamwork skills.
Both projects have used the arts as an educational and socialization tool, fostering participation, personal expression, confidence, cooperation, and cohesion. These programs have served to establish a link between educational centers and the cultural life of Alcarràs, facilitating access to quality artistic experiences and encouraging future cultural habits.
The development of these projects has been possible thanks to the support of the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya. A grant of €1,655 was received for the 'Butaca escolar' program and €5,106 for the participatory music workshops, thus contributing to bringing performing arts and musical training to the students of the municipality's educational centers.
