Almacelles Hosts Closing of Sardanes a la Fresca in Segrià

The 21st edition of the sardana dance series concludes this Friday with the Cobla 11 de Setembre at Plaça de la Vila.

The 21st edition of Sardanes a la Fresca in Segrià reaches its conclusion this Friday, September 4th, in Almacelles, with a dance at Plaça de la Vila starting at 9:00 PM.

The music will be provided by the Cobla 11 de Setembre. The event, open to the public and free of charge, is expected to attract around 300 people from eleven sardanista groups from the Segrià region.
The repertoire will include pieces such as “L’esquirol sardanista” by Carles Santiago, “Confiança d’argent” by Òscar Barqué, “El parc de la Guineu” by Pere Fontàs, “A saltar” by Pau Morons, “50 anys” by Pitu Chamorro, and “Al sac i ben lligat” by Anna Abad. Also featured will be “Sota el mas ventós” by Jaume Bonaterra, “En Toni de Tona, sardanista i geganter” by Josep Farràs, and “Sardanes a la lluna” by Josep Capell.
The Sardanes a la Fresca in Segrià is organized by the Culture Department of the Consell Comarcal del Segrià. It is supported by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs, the Diputació de Lleida, and the Federació Sardanista de les Comarques de Lleida, as well as the town councils of the participating municipalities. In this instance, the Ajuntament d'Almacelles is actively collaborating. Representatives from all these institutions and entities are expected to attend the dance.
