The event, starting at 7:00 PM, will include the presence of the directors and other participants in the projects, offering a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the creative process. Additionally, the evening will feature a musical performance by Tui Higgins Bakaikoa.
Following the tradition of the first edition, which highlighted young female talent from Lleida, this second showcase presents five films made by local female directors. All of them are originally from Ponent, with the exception of Marta Brichs, who is considered an adopted Lleida native due to her family ties to Alpicat.
The short films to be screened are Es más que arte by Júlia Jiménez, Olivia by Laura Castelo, Seeing Myself by Berta Saura, Me vas a olvidar by Aline López, and Marina by Marta Brichs.
Among the featured works, Olivia by Laura Castelo stands out for its trajectory, with a presence on platforms like Filmin. Also notable is Marina, which tells the story of an individual who left the world of cinema, despite winning awards such as the Gaudí and Goya for their first film, Pa negre, to pursue biology and farming.
The showcase will be presented by actor Erik Varea, originally from Alpicat, and Lleida actress Marta Mora. This event marks the closing of the January to May program for the La Unió Arts and Music Season.
