The project, launched in Lleida, primarily aims to promote a more conscious and healthy use of technology among young people, delaying the acquisition of their first mobile device. Participating businesses will display a visible sticker indicating that they offer this service temporarily and securely.
The 'Fes un Truc' initiative is promoted by the Department of Business and Work and is supported by various merchant associations throughout Catalonia. Approximately 600 stickers have already been requested for establishments in the city of Lleida, which will be placed in the coming weeks.
“"Sometimes it has happened that children playing in the park don't know where their parents are, and we accompany them to the shop, give them a glass of water, help them search, and call if necessary. Now, with a network to do this, we will feel much more supported."
The first shop to display the distinctive sign was Sitgetana shoe shop, located in Lleida's Commercial Hub. The establishment has encouraged other businesses to join this support network, emphasizing the importance of having safe contact points for the community.
At the regional level, the project has generated significant interest, with participation requests from 45 merchant associations and the request for nearly 5,000 stickers, demonstrating the scope and relevance of this proposal for the safety and well-being of children and teenagers.
