The event is part of the Escenaris Singulars project, organized by the Culture department of the Consell Comarcal del Segrià. The event was attended by Àlvaro Boqué, third vice-president and head of the department, and Albert Solsona, mayor of Vilanova de la Barca.
Albert Solsona shared with the audience the history of the Santa Maria church, a 13th-century Gothic building that suffered bombings during the Civil War and was later restored, receiving the declaration of Local Asset of Cultural Interest in 2003.
The repertoire performed by Dolcet and Shymanska, including pieces by composers such as Shubert, Satie, Strauss, Piazzola, and Händel, was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
After the concert, a tasting of local products was offered, featuring sweet and savory cakes from the bakery Adrià i Sònia, using products from Badia Fruits, and drinks from Quierovinos.com, a company from Segrià.
The Escenaris Singulars project is supported by the regional youth service Jove Segrià, the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs, the Diputació de Lleida, and the town councils of the participating municipalities.
The last concert of the year will take place next Saturday, September 19, in Aitona, featuring the Agrupació de Guitarres de l’Orfeó Lleidatà at the Sant Antolí church at 6:00 PM.
