The investigation began in early July following several reports of thefts from a community parking lot serving a large building located between Passeig Onze de Setembre and Carrer de Mart. After gathering evidence and security camera footage without identifying the perpetrator, off-duty officers recognized the suspect in late July. The man possessed a remote control device to access the parking area.
A patrol identified the individual, who had prior offenses for similar incidents. He was carrying a glass-breaking tool and the remote control. Although these items were confiscated, he was released as he was not in possession of any stolen goods. Following this identification, the thefts at this parking lot ceased.
Subsequently, three more burglaries occurred at another community parking lot on Carrer Pius XII. Security footage from this incident confirmed it was the same person, prompting efforts for his arrest.
Finally, on August 3rd, the man was located and arrested in Plaça del Dipòsit in Lleida, and was linked to the burglaries at both parking facilities. With previous convictions, he was brought before a judge on Wednesday.
