Lleida's Palau de Vidre is set to reopen in late June or early July, transformed into a center featuring an entity hotel and versatile public spaces.

The Lleida city council recently unveiled the usage plan for the renovated Palau de Vidre, which will provide over 4,600 square meters for public use. Among the new features is a large 1,786 m² multipurpose court on the ground floor, capable of accommodating 613 people, ideal for hosting fairs, exhibitions, concerts, or conventions.
The upper floor will house the Mirador del Palau, a 171 m² space with a capacity for 125 people, designed for receptions and gatherings. An auditorium of 302 m² with seating for 230 attendees will also be located there. A central element of the project is the entity hotel, a 550 m² space created to foster collaborative work among non-profit associations, featuring various rooms and common areas for 95 people and the ability to host up to six teams simultaneously.
Additionally, the Palau de Vidre will host the offices of the Participation department and the Sindicatura de Greuges de Lleida. A councilor from the Participation department noted that the project is the result of a participatory process initiated in 2019, aiming to create a functional and open space serving both entities and the city.

"We want to turn the Palau de Vidre into a functional and open space, at the service of entities and the city."

The space reservation system will require a prior application submitted fifteen days in advance. Priority will be given to non-profit entities and activities with community impact, which may be exempt from fees if they are not economic or business-oriented.
Spokespersons for ERC and Junts criticized the government for not inviting opposition councilors to the presentation. The Junts representative recalled that the project was initiated by the Urban Planning department during the previous term, under her party's direction, and announced that she would seek explanations from the government regarding the exclusion of other groups.
