Vehicle explosion in Lleida leaves at least three injured

An explosion occurred this Saturday morning in a parked vehicle on Lluís Companys street, in the center of Lleida, affecting at least three people.

The incident happened around eleven in the morning, when a detonation occurred in a car located a short distance from the Teatre Municipal de l’Escorxador. It is currently unknown whether the explosion originated from the vehicle itself or from a product inside.
Several emergency units quickly responded to the scene: Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters), the Servei d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) (Emergency Medical Services), and the Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police). The sound of the explosion also attracted numerous pedestrians to the area.
The SEM transported at least two injured individuals by ambulance. The full extent of the injuries and the identities of the wounded are still unknown. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the specific causes of the explosion.
The area was cordoned off while emergency services conducted initial checks, and the public has been urged to exercise caution until the origin of the detonation is clarified.
