Nine buildings in the city of Lleida were evacuated on Sunday night due to a fire that started in the ground-floor premises at number 3 Vallès Street.

The fire, which began around 10:18 PM, spread rapidly due to the accumulation of material in the workshop where it originated. The flames caused the first-floor ceiling of the affected building to collapse, leaving the property in very poor structural condition, although no personal injuries were reported.
By Monday morning, most residents had been able to return to their homes. Firefighters continue to inspect the affected property, and the municipal architect from the City Council has been engaged to assess the damage.
The exact causes of the fire are still under investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra. The fire was declared extinguished during the night but necessitated the evacuation of residents from the damaged building and eight nearby properties.
The buildings affected by the evacuation include numbers 1, 5, and 7 on Vallès Street; numbers 11, 13, and 15 on Corts Catalanes Street; and numbers 13 and 14 on Hospitalers de Sant Joan Street.
Up to 15 fire crews from various stations, including a drone unit, participated in the firefighting and control efforts. The Emergency Medical Service (SEM) also dispatched two ambulances as a precautionary measure.
