The Paeria has started the comprehensive renovation works of public lighting in the El Segre industrial estate in Lleida. This action, part of the service management and maintenance contract, involves the replacement of 202 lampposts with new LED technology lighting points, which are more efficient and offer better lighting performance.
The intervention includes not only the replacement of the luminaires but also the complete renewal of the wiring and the foundations of the lampposts, as the existing ones were old and in poor condition. Approximately 13,000 meters of new electrical wiring and 4 new control electrical panels will be installed. To enable the new electrical ducting, about 6,000 meters of trenching will be necessary.
The total budget allocated for this renovation amounts to €982,735.32. The works are expected to be completed by next February. Part of the material, specifically the luminaires, is financed by a grant from the Institute for Energy Saving and Diversification (IDAE), which will also allow for the replacement of 14,545 luminaires across the city, achieving 100% public lighting with LED technology by early next year.
During the works, parking restrictions will be implemented in sections of the side of Avenida Industria closest to the axis of the LL-11 and C-13. The side closest to the river will allow parking as usual. The work will begin on Monday at the roundabout of the C-13 and will progress throughout the week. Temporary lane closures are expected at the point where trenching is being carried out, but one lane will always remain open.
