A group of UdL students from Tarragona and Barcelona highlighted that, despite initial reluctance, the academic experience in Lleida is very positive, according to data from the 2023-2024 academic year.

Four Bilingual Primary Education students, including Nayade and Blana from Igualada, Jana from Girona, and Jin from L'Arboç, shared their experience at the University of Lleida (UdL). They all agree that, despite not initially choosing the city as their first option, the experience has far exceeded their expectations.

"Very few want to come to Lleida at first, but afterwards very few want to leave."

Data from the 2023-2024 academic year reinforce this trend. Of the 4,050 non-resident students in Lleida, 1,335 come from Barcelona and 860 reside in the province of Tarragona. This demonstrates that the UdL exerts a notable power of attraction over young people from Tarragona.
In contrast, 425 students residing in Lleida opted for universities in Tarragona or other provinces. These figures consolidate the role of the capital of Segrià as an attractive university destination that successfully retains students who initially hesitated to settle there.
