The coach acknowledged that San Pablo Burgos, considered the second-best scoring team in the league, increased their intensity in the third quarter, an aspect his team had anticipated. Although they were prepared at times, the greater determination of the Burgos players in the final phase was decisive for the outcome.
“"We knew the third quarter was key because San Pablo is the second-best scoring team, we knew they would raise their intensity level and that we had to be prepared, and I think we were in some minutes, but if I have to highlight why Burgos won, it's because they played with more determination in the final moments of the game."
Another key factor mentioned was the effectiveness of three-point shots. The opposing team showed much higher percentages from beyond the arc, while Hiopos Lleida had a very poor performance in this regard. The coach insisted on the need for all players to contribute more, especially in outside shooting.
“"I also think that one of the keys was the success from the three-point line; their percentages were much higher than ours."
The coach reiterated his awareness that the team will have to fight until the end of the season, a situation he had already foreseen. He stressed that both he and the team are prepared to face this challenge, and urged those who are not to adapt to the situation. He reminded that the club is humble and that, despite having been in more advantageous positions, the regular league always places teams where they deserve to be.
Finally, he praised the second half of the Burgos team, highlighting their great work and their play-off numbers, attributed to the quality of their players. He also made a brief mention of the excellent basketball atmosphere experienced in the pavilion.
