The bathing season at most pools in Ponent has kicked off this weekend. While municipalities like Seròs, Agramunt, and Torregrossa opened early, others are postponing the opening until next weekend or Sant Joan's Eve. The forecast is for most facilities to close in early September.
One of the notable new features this year is the inauguration of the new pools in Vilanova de Segrià. This municipality, previously the only one in the comarca without this service, is now joining the offerings, providing a climate refuge against the high temperatures of the Lleida plain.
The comarca capitals are also opening or will open soon: Cervera and Tàrrega have already started the season, Balaguer will do so on Sunday, and Mollerussa and les Borges Blanques will join on the 19th. Other towns such as Aitona, Alpicat, Sidamon, Bellpuig, and Camarasa are already enjoying their facilities since this Saturday.
In Lleida city, the municipal pool complex opened its doors this Friday with extended hours and a digital access system via QR code. The facilities in Cappont, Balàfia, Pardinyes, Bordeta, Secà, and Mangraners will be operational daily from 11 am to 8:30 pm, adapting to the needs of intense heat episodes.
The new complex in Vilanova de Segrià covers approximately 4,000 square meters and includes a lawn area and a pool with different depths. It features a beach-style access area and another section with three lanes for more athletic use, ending the previous situation where residents had to travel to other municipalities.
