The facility, which has been occupied, looted, and vandalized, will be demolished along with adjacent warehouses, bleachers, and the old municipal swimming pools, also disused since 2019. The estimated project cost amounts to 322,979 euros.
Through this urban development initiative, the council aims to expand the facilities of the Agrobiotech park. The decision to forgo the renovation of the swimming pools was made in 2024 due to their poor condition, and their potential relocation is being considered according to the new urban planning (POUM).
The demolition of the nightclub, which operated under various names including Gurugú, Larida, and The Hill for nearly two decades, was considered a "pending task" by the municipal government. The objective is to "organize the space" to promote the planned economic activity on the Turó de Gardeny.
The nightclub opened its doors in 2002 and changed management and names several times until its definitive closure in 2018, following a debt exceeding one million euros to the Paeria for non-payment of the concession fee.
